freelancer of the year 2009 LONDON, UK, (Xchangeteam – http://www.xchangeteam.com), November 2009 – Leading freelance recruiter Xchangeteam has launched its Freelancer of the Year Awards 2009, which celebrates the excellent work undertaken by freelancers within the Marketing, Media and Communications sectors.

Open to all freelancers within these sectors, these annual Awards are in their sixth year and provide vital recognition for freelancers’ commitment and contribution to UK Plc. Freelancers can be nominated by their peers, colleagues, managers or even by themselves and Xchangeteam is hoping to break the record set last year for the highest number of nominations to date – 350.

This year’s categories are Advertising & Design (Creative and Account Management), Digital Excellence, Editorial, Events, Marketing and PR, Communications & Public Affairs.

The Awards attract an industry-leading judging panel, responsible for selecting the six category winners and the recipient of the ‘Grand Prix’ Award for ‘Overall Freelancer of the Year 2009’

Since their debut in 2003 the Xchangeteam Freelancer of the Year Awards have showcased the very best freelance talent in UK Marketing, Media and Communications, celebrating this uniquely challenging profession with winners from across various sectors and disciplines.

The prestige that accompanies these Awards guarantees a real boost to the profiles of the lucky winners. Last year’s overall winner, designer Anna Cowie commented, “Being named Freelancer of the Year has meant that all the hard work behind the scenes has been recognised.
